A couple of weeks ago there was an exciting new launch for L'Oréal, something that I was actually really excited to get my hands on and something that hadn't be seen before.
The new L'Oréal Infallible Matte Max Lip was bound to take the blogger world by storm and why not, it's something new and actually fascinating, I was no doubt intrigued anyways which led me to purchase them and try them out.
Whenever there's a new launch of any lip product of any brand I always feel the need to try them out, with lip products being my favourites I couldn't exactly resist grabbing a few of these new matte max lips.
Firstly I managed to grab these a few days ahead of launch day as with my sister working at Superdrugs i always managed to snap things up a little ahead of time. Purchasing on the 3 for 2 offer and at only £6.99 each in total i only spent £13.98 on 3 of these L'Oréal Infallible Matte Max Lips.
When i got home i decided to do a few swatches for my blog as i was dying to share with you all and over the next few days i tried them out...
Now to put a downer on the whole situation.. I did not love these, these weren't exactly how i pictured them in my head and overall i am quite disappointed in them.
I firstly tried out the shade 001 Silencio which is a beautiful coral nude shade, I'm all about the nudes and this looked like the perfect everyday shade for me. The first application was dry, it's like applying an eyeshadow onto your lips and the whole texture just feels so drying, you can top this off with a lipgloss but being as this is supposed to be a matte lip type product that would just defeat the purpose, The applicator is also like an eyeshadow sponge and doesn't feel good to apply a lip product with.
So the second application i made sure to smother my lips in lip balm first, again, same thing happened and it was just to dry too work with.. Though it does make your lips matte it's almost too matte, if that's even possible! It feels really dry and without putting a downer on things it just didn't work well and if you have dry lips then this would look terrible, it would sit in the cracks of your dry lips and just wouldn't look good.
It's a shame as the shades are beautiful without a doubt, they have a great colour selection, ranging from a everyday nude, pink, red and even dark purple and they are very inexpensive especially when purchased on the 3 for 2 offer.
I picked up the shades - 001 Silencio (a coral nude) 002 Like A Virgin (a pretty pinkish nude) and 004 Opps I Pink It (A deep pinkish red)
The shades can easily be worn with a light application for a more sheer colour or can be built up for a more intense colour, if you can deal with the dryness of course. If you can't then lipgloss does help but overall I wouldn't repurchase these again.
The L'Oréal Infallible Matte Max Lip's can be purchased online or in-stores at Boots or Superdrugs at £6.99 each.
