Glossybox | November 2014

Oh my favourite time of the month! No - not that time TMI haha and besides from payday obviously my other favourite thing is receiving goodie boxes. I just received my beauty advent calendar too so i'm excited to start that! ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!
Anyway, it's been a very long time since i last posted about anything beauty related really and i've been having deprivation.. is that what it's called?..
When i received my Glossybox, i did honestly think it felt a bit empty inside - normally they feel quite full but this time it felt quite shaky inside which also meant it felt a little empty too.
When i opened the box i was quite surprised to see a full sized item or two or THREE - despite the fact the box felt so empty i now know why! The full sized items were tiny but obviously they are full sizes still. So the item i was most excited about and purely because i was looking for a new one, was the Lollipops Eye Pencil (€14) - i've used this a few times now and i am loving it! It's jet black which i love, doesn't smudge and stays put all day, i have a feeling i'll be repurchasing this! Plus it has cool packaging and it's twist-up to which means i don't have to sharpen it! YAY!!
Another exciting item was the Burt's Bees Lip Shine in Whisper (£6.99) - i already have an obsession with Burt's Bees so this was just an extra added bonus, plus i needed a new lip gloss to and the shade it's beautiful and perfect for everyday wear.
For the last full sized item i received the Umberto Giannini Miracle Worker (£8.00) - I used to love Umberto Giannini way before the blogging days and i used to always use their products so i'm glad to have a product of theirs back into my life and i've already tried this a few times and it's great for fizziness and leaves a lovely shine to your hair!

For the mini's i received the H20+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment (£27.50 for 50ml), i've used this product before i think i must of received a sample of this in my beauty advent calendar last year, anyway this product is practically a face mask though it doesn't state that on the card but you apply this onto damp skin and leave for 5minutes to absorb then massage in excess. I've used this before and remember it being a tad sticky for my face and i didn't really see much of a difference either..
The last sample i received was the MONU Refining Capri Facial Oil (£26 for 100ml), now i was intrigued by this because i do love me some facial oils for my dry skin, i applied this before bed when my skin was feeling really dry and woke up to beautifully glowing skin, still a little dry but it works wonders on those dry areas as well as balancing out the oils.

Overall i'm happy with this month's box, there's so many goodies in this box that i would actually use and i've discovered new favourites that i would definitely repurchase.

My Life's Changed..

2 weeks ago today i made this post, and in that post i had spoken of where i had been lately and what's been keeping me so busy and tied down.
Well on 14th November 2014, my life changed dramatically, i lost one of the closest, most dearest person in my life - my Grandma.
If you've been keeping up with my me lately you'll know that i spoke of my Grandma's illness - she had Bowel Cancer and sadly the nurses told us she wouldn't have long. On 13th November 2014, my whole family travelled 350 miles to say one last goodbye to her and on 14th November 2014 at 11.25am my Nanna sadly passed away with all her nearest and dearest's surrounding her - she couldn't of gone a better way.
From that moment i knew my life wouldn't be the same again, though i am the same old Holly - a part of me died with her.  When i kissed my Nanna's forehead and said my goodbye i knew from then just how precious life really is and you just don't know what's right around the corner. Life is so unexpected sometimes that you just have to embrace every moment of it, don't let anything get in the way of what you want to do and just live your life how you want to live it.

Though it's taken this long and a death or a truly loved one to realise what's right in front of my eyes, how precious family really are, how unexpected life is and just how important it is to embrace and take in every moment of it.

It breaks my heart knowing that i'll never be able to see my Grandma's face again, never be able to hold her hand, never be able to talk to her again or even throw my arms around her when i need her but i know now she's in a better place, looking down on us with Grand-dad.

RIP GRANDMA - 14/11/2014

Where Have I Been?..

I know it has been ridiculously long since i last made a proper post, i'm so sorry guys! If you read this post then you will know why i've been a bit absent from here the past few months..
I don't even know where to start if i'm honest, i just know i need to get a post out to you guys explaining where i have been lately.
So the past few months i've been travelling back and fourth from Newcastle, in my last update post i spoke about my Nan who sadly has cancer and doesn't have long left now. So in a bid to make more time for her i've had to drop everything, work, blogging, my lifestyle - so i can just be there for her more. I live about 350 miles away from her and travelling back and fourth has been a long and tiring process, obviously all worth it! I've been to Newcastle 3 times this year since finding out about my Nans illness, normally i'd go once a year! But, because she's so poorly i've made more of an effort, which means i've had no time to do anything else but work my little butt off at work just so i can afford to go!
Besides from that, i've not exactly been well myself, i've stressed and worried myself out so much that i've made myself quite ill and a few doctors trips have been made but i'm slowly getting myself back up on my feet.
I've also been working really hard on my shop, as when i spoke to my nan about it she told me to make the most of life and do what i love as life is to short. So that's why i've been focusing more on my shop right now more than anything, it's probably bad to say but i do love my shop more than my blog right now but that's only because i feel like i've let my blog go so much over the past year that i just don't know how to get back on track - i'm sure i will one day and i will make it one of my goals for next year..
If you haven't already, please go check out my shop - Bombs Away Cosmetics - We are currently preparing our Christmas products which we're really excited about!

Besides from all of that, i'm still here and i'll be back with all you soon.

Lots of love!

Rosalina Nacken For Winter

The time has come, guys. Winter is almost upon us. While I can’t say I’m a big fan of the cold, I do love the chance to rock a whole new season’s worth of looks. Needless to say, I’ve been doing a lot of browsing through shopping sites and fashion magazines as I piece together my dream list of winter clothes and accessories. And what tops that list, you might ask? Currently, I’m in love with luxury handbag designer Rosalina Nacken and her glamorous Shelle Classica.
Haven’t heard of Rosalina Nacken? The fashion brand is an up-and-comer with an inspiring goal: To make handbags that make women feel graceful and feminine, no matter where they are or where they go. The Shelle doesn’t disappoint on that front. Each bag is carefully crafted out of high quality Italian leather with tasteful gold-coated accents, and its precision stitching and sleek design are a testament to its quality. It would be hard not to feel graceful with something so beautiful on my arm!

Part of why I love the Shelle so much is the brand’s focus on career-driven women. Rosalina Nacken herself says that she is inspired by women who pave their own way through life, and I can totally see that in her work. Her innovative designs aren’t just made to look gorgeous, though they definitely do. They’re also the perfect mix of class and professionalism. I could see myself bringing it to work for the day, or just as easily taking it out with me for a night on the town. It’s empowering to see a designer with such strong feminine convictions, and I love that her passion bleeds through into her work.

On the less idealistic, more style-driven side, I also love that the Shelle is practically made for winter. The three shades that the Classica comes in—Rich Black, Royal Blue, and Poetic Peach—would fit perfectly into any winter wardrobe. Deeper tones are always big near the end of the year, and the blue and peach bags carry just the right splash of colour for the season. And the scratch-resistant and water-repellent patent finish keeps the bag protected from the rain and snow, which means that a surprise change in the weather won’t spell disaster for the Shelle, or the belongings I’m keeping inside of it. In fact, the included Shelle Futura tablet case ensures that even my handheld electronics will be safe from the elements.

And the Shelle isn’t just practical for winter, it’s also the perfect pair to some of the biggest upcoming trends. Just think of how well Rosalina Nacken’s handbags would look with the over-the-knee boots that are appearing on the street as we head into the colder end of fall! The black Classica would be a great match for a pair of leather boots in the same colour, or you could make a statement by pairing them with the peach bag to really make it pop. The gold accents would also fit perfectly with the statement jewellery that I’ve already started to stock up on, especially after seeing so much of it on the runways a few weeks ago. Very forward-thinking.

That’s ultimately what I like most about Rosalina Nacken; the forward-thinking look and, more importantly, the forward-thinking feminine ideas behind the design. I definitely look forward to the day when I’m able to add one of her bags to my collection.
