Looking Back On The Year - 2012

Phew!  2012 has been one heck of a year, anyone else agree with me?.. So many up's and down's and i'm so glad to see the back of it, tonight i shall be snuggled up on the sofa with the boyfriend doing the countdown to New Years and celebrating by watching the fireworks.
I've never been one to go out on New Year's, actually no, i'm never one to go out at all.. So i shall celebrate by watching it all on tv instead.
2012 brings so many memories for me, so many great one's and not so great one's but it was a bloody good year and i can't wait to see what 2013 brings..
Here are my favourite memories from 2012...  (I realise i've used two images exactly the same, my bad)
Where do i even start?...  Well to start the year i got a new job, which is half the reason why my blog has been so neglected this year.. That'll all change in 2013 my dears, i'm back for good now.
Me and my boyfriend built a whole new office, or shall i say my boyfriend did most of it, it was the best birthday present ever!
Talking about birthday's i celebrated my 22nd this year, one of the best birthday's i've ever had, i celebrated with my closest friends and family so i was pretty happy. I also received the mahosive Stitch teddy shown above for my birthday from my sister.. so i now have the baby Stitch, the normal sized Stitch and the massive sized.. Let's just say i'm obsessed with Stitch.
Beach days, random photo's taken through the year, and of course Christmas..  This Christmas has probably been the most stressful Christmas' ever, We have such a big family that every year i find myself spending more and more money, But in saying that it was literally the most wonderful time of the year.  On Christmas Day i spent it with my boyfriend and his side of the family, and on Boxing day i spent it with my side of the family as my poor mumma had to work on Christmas day.
I received amazing gift's which i am so grateful for, the best being an iPad Mini from one of my closest friends from work..  It's amazing how you lose friends and then gain even more amazing friends.

So that's my year in photo's.. did you have an amazing 2012?.. What's your favourite memory?

I just wanted to take this moment to say to all my amazing followers who have stuck by me and my blog through-out 2012, a massive thank you! - i hope you all have an amazing New Year and wishing you all the best for 2013..  Let's all make it a year to remember!

New Years Resolutions 2013

So nearly another year gone, i'm seriously so over 2012 now and cannot wait for it to be 2013.  2012 was a great year for me, a lot of ups and downs as with most years.. i lost a few friends and gained some great one's.  I'm in a happier place than i was last year and i want to keep it this way through-out 2013.
I don't normally make New Years Resolutions as i normally end up breaking them almost straight away but this year or shall i say in 2013, i really really want to make more of an effort with my resolutions and actually give them a go instead of giving up straight away.
So.. i've made a little list of my New Years Resolutions for 2013..  Some for myself and some for my blog..
♥  Make more of an effort with my blog - I kinda let my blog slip this year, it wasn't my intention to, i had no time on my hands as i started a new job and i spent most days working, and if i wasn't working the last thing on my mind was to blog, so that's right at the very top of the resolutions..  Along with that, i want to also improve my blog, the content, the images.. everything..

Start my Youtube Channel - This is something again, which i keep promising myself to do but i simple keep getting distracted and i'm quite camera shy so i need to overcome that and get my butt back to doing Youtube video's again.

Spend less, save more - I have a horrible habit of spending money that i don't have for things i don't even need, then i wonder to myself why i am always skint on the first week of payday.  This needs to stop and i need to start saving for more important things.

Focus on myself, rather than other's - When it comes down to it, i am one of those people that care more for other's than i do for myself.  I would rather them happy if it mean's i would have to live my life unhappy. Again, i've been told by almost everyone that i need to start looking after/putting myself first before other's.

Make 2013 my year -  Every year i say this, and every year i fail.  But, 2013 will be my year.

So that's my New Years Resolutions for 2013, i would love to know what your resolutions are..

The world’s best locations for all you fashion lovers

Is your idea of heaven heading to foreign climes to snap up the best fashion on offer around the world? If so then your dream getaway should be to any one of the world’s cities that has earnt itself a reputation for fabulous fashion. Whether you are on the hunt for the biggest designer names, unique pieces that no one will be wearing back home or bargain buys that will make you the envy of all of
your friends at work – there is a getaway to suit your tastes. With so many great value late hotel deals on offer to wonderful destinations, it is just a matter of time before you are swiping those credit cards and walking away with that item that dreams are made of.
Here is a list of some of the best fashion getaways…
London, UK
Home to a list of some of the fashion world’s biggest names from Burberry to Alexander McQueen, you can’t go wrong with the English capital. Whether it’s the tailors of Saville Row or the designer boutiques of Regent Street and Bond Street – London has it all. You could spend days on end (and fortunes) touring the flashiest flagship stores. Fashion lovers will be spoilt for choice in London.
Any self-respecting shopper will love the city and the range of fashions that have made London such an iconic destination.
New York, USA
Whether its striding down Fifth Avenue, browsing the racks at Bloomingdales and Macy’s or hunting out bargains in Brooklyn’s best vintage stores, fashion fanatics will find it hard not to fall in love with this fashion capital. Home to some of the most outrageous and unique designers, New York City is where it’s at for fashionistas the world over. Take the chance to snap up items from the American Greats – Calvin Klein, Vera Wang and Marc Jacobs.
Paris, France
Not only is it one of the world’s most romantic destinations but it is also one of the world’s most sophisticated spots for shopping. Paris is regularly referred to as “The Fashion Capital of the World”. Take inspiration from the effortlessly stylish Parisian’s who seem as though they could wear anything and still never fail to look anything short of fabulous. Just think, the money that you save yourself booking a last minute deal could be spent on that dream purchase from Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier or Nicole Farhi.
Milan, Italy
Mentioning shopping getaways and not mentioning Milan would be like mentioning Bonnie but forgetting to talk about Clyde. The two go hand in hand. Milan is the fashion capital of Italy for good reason. Designers who are proud to call Milan home include Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Valentino, Moschino…need I go on?

No matter what your idea of “good shopping” is – each of these wonderful cities has their own style just waiting to inspire this season’s wardrobe. Make sure you call ahead and warn the bank!

Guest Post: Do you want to look as young as you feel?

Do you want to look as young as you feel?

When people look at you, the first thing they see is your face and as you grow older, this will be one of the first areas of your body to show ageing.
As you get older, the skin in your facial area will begin to lose its elasticity and facial features may wrinkle and droop. This process can leave your face looking tired, with wrinkles, hollow cheeks and loose skin in the lower face and neck.
If the ageing process is getting you down and you are unhappy with the way you are looking, then you could consider getting a facelift.

What is a facelift?
A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic procedure designed to help you achieve a more youthful appearance by reducing saggy skin and wrinkles. It is the most commonly requested procedure by men and women, who want to look as young as they feel.
You can get a facelift to lift your whole face or you can get it to just lift your brow area, lower face or neck. Each procedure will leave you looking more youthful. Not only will a facelift eliminate the early signs of ageing by creating a younger, fresher complexion, it can also give you a new sense of confidence when interacting with others. Because you will look younger, you will feel better about yourself.

A facelift usually requires an overnight stay in hospital and is done under general anaesthetic. Because you will be under general anaesthetic, you will have to fast, which means you won't be able to eat or drink six hours before the procedure.
Usually your surgeon will take pictures of your pre-surgery and these pictures will be compared with those taken after surgery so you can identify the difference.
Surgery can last between two and six hours and for the traditional facelift, your surgeon will create an incision along your hairline and around your ears, possibly extending into your scalp. Your surgeon will then lift your skin away from your face, rearrange the underlying tissue in a higher position and will remove excess skin.
After this, your surgeon will the re-drape your skin over your face and will close the incision with stitches. In some cases, a drain may be placed under your skin behind your ears to drain off any excess blood and fluids.

What to expect after the procedure
You can expect to stay in hospital overnight and you will experience pain and discomfort as the anaesthetic wears off. Your face will be wrapped in bandages and may be taken off before you can go home. If drains were placed under your skin, they will also be removed.
It usually takes about two to three weeks to recover from surgery - although this varies between individuals.
After a facelift, most patients are happy with the results because they feel happier and they look younger. The results of a facelift can last up to 10 years and you will achieve the best results if you maintain a stable body weight. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will also help - this includes not smoking, limiting stress and contact with pollutants. Genetics also help with the appearance of skin; so if you have skin with good levels of elasticity, your facelift will look better for longer.

Christmas Jewellery For Every Recipient

Selecting Christmas jewellery is a popular option this holiday season. Following the trend, jewellery designers like Chopard create Christmas inspired jewellery lines. The legendary jeweller collaborated with Harrods to come up with an iconic Haute Joaillerie line including Disney Princess themed pieces. The pieces are teamed with Versace, Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta clothing in Harrods’ Christmas 2012 window displays.
Here are a few more examples of jewellery you can select for Christmas 2012.
Jewellery for your significant other. Gorgeous jewellery pieces can tell the story of love. This is why such stones as diamond, sapphire, emerald, and jade are often used in engagement rings. For example, the ancient Greeks associated emerald with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, while jade symbolises longevity in China, which may help you show how much you’re looking forward to your future together. A sweet sterling silver diamond snow crystal, star or angel charm is a perfect Christmas gift for your loved one.
Jewellery for your mum. In Celtic and Greek mythology, moonstone is a stone associated with a triple goddess that represents the maiden, the mother, and the crone. The stone was also believed to have protective powers for women’s health. Another great option is pearl jewellery also associated with mothers. For your mum, select jewellery featuring moonstone or pearl such as a sterling silver and freshwater pearl bow charm or black rhodium and blue freshwater pearl earrings.
Jewellery for your daughter or granddaughter. For a daughter or granddaughter, select jewellery in eye-catching Christmas themed designs. The choice of suitable options is enormous, from sterling silver winter wonderland snowflake studs to sleigh, boot and ice skate charms to winter mistletoe pendants. Christmas beads make fun meaningful gifts as they are used to create one-of-a-kind bracelets. Christmas themed beads are available in myriad unusual designs including snowman, crown, present box, angel, Christmas tree, snowflake, ice bear designs and so on.
If you are looking for meaningful Christmas gifts to pamper your loved ones, opt for jewellery pieces designed for this occasion by top jewellers including Trollbeads, Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Hot Diamonds and others. These pieces may help you express any sentiment.

Christmas Stocking Fillers

So it's now only 11 days til Christmas, how flipping exciting is this?.. Anyone else get abit giggy when they wake up and realise it's one day closer to Christmas?..
I put together a small Christmas Stocking Fillers post for you all today, lots of items i would personally love to receive in my stocking this year.
My the slightly bigger items, i have picked four of my top products this year and i used all of these products every single day.
First is the L'Oreal Mythic Oil, my one is for coloured hair but you can buy the original one which is just as good.. i use this every single day without fail, it leaves my hair feeling so smooth, soft, it doesn't make my hair greasy and it keeps my hair protected whilst keeping the colour.
For my face i've picked two of my hold grail products, the Skindinavia Setting Spray has always been one of my favourites, i spray this twice before i apply my make up and twice after and it really does last all day.  The Caudalíe Beauty Elixir is a recent discovery, i purchased this tiny 15ml bottle back in October and it's lasted me this long and i use it everyday, this product helps with any redness i have and it really refreshens you, i spray this before and after i apply moisturiser..
I then have the Soap & Glory Hand Food which i've used for a few years now, i have one by my desk, one in my handbag and one by my bedside.. i keep going back to this hand cream as i feel like this one really does work with my dry hands, it keeps them moisturised for ages (until i next wash my hands) and i love the smell of this hand cream so much!
For make up i've picked my two favourite palettes both from MUA - The Artiste palette is a fairly newish one which contains 6 eyeshadows, 2 blushers, a highlighters and a contour shade.  My favourite palette from all the MUA palettes has to be the Heaven and Earth palette, it contains 12 beautiful eyeshadows, and the shades are just amazing and really easy to work with.. They are also really  pigmented and the palette's are really affordable.
For lips, i've picked my all time favourite products and they are the Revlon Lip Butters and the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, both are just as good as each other so i don't love any specific shades more than the other's i love them all.  Both are really pigmented, the lip butters are less pigmented as they add more of a hint of colour to your lips which you can always build the colour up.  The Balm Stains on the other hand are really pigmented and give a nice pop of colour to your lips whilst keeping them moisturised at the same time.
And lastly, i couldn't end this post without adding nail polishes!  I picked the new Barry M Glitter polishes, i couldn't pick just one so i added 5! - All the new Barry M Glitter polishes are so so gorgeous, they retail at £2.99 each which in itself is already a bargain but Boots are currently doing a offer where if you spend £6 on Barry M you get a free gift! I obviously took advantage of this fantastic offer!..  I would personally love to receive these nail polishes in my stocking (that's if i didn't already have them).. all the shades are gorgeous and so so unique to other nail polishes, Barry M did well on this collection.
Finally, i have picked Essie Nail polishes, any colour Essie polishes.. i think it'll be such a nice treat for someone opening their stocking to see an Essie nail polish, they are a little expensive at £7.99 for one but such a nice little treat, i would love to receive more Essie polishes ;) hint hint family if your reading this!..

What have you asked for in your Christmas stocking this year?

Christmas Casino Nail Art - My very poor attempt

I admit i've never really been good at nail art, as much as i try my hardest to be, i simply don't have the patience and a sturdy enough hand to do so but i was set a challenge by Ladbrokes to do something Casino and Christmas inspired to help celebrate the launch of their Christmas games, so this is what i came up with.. I tried to keep it as simple as possible and do things i thought would be easy enough to do, but actually still turnt out to be quite hard.
I was sent a few bits and bobs to help me along the way to completing my Casino/Christmas inspired nails, along those items i was sent..  The Soap & Glory Perfect Manicure Set which includes in the set, the Hand Food, Endless Glove hand mask an, 3 OPI nail polishes in shades.. Alpine Snow, Big Apple Red and Gargantuan Green Grape.. and a Konard nail art stamp with a casino themed plate.
Please don't laugh, i understand how poor my nail art skills are, but at least i tried right?..
So my themed nails starts with some red and white polka dot nails which did start off to be some dice but it went wrong, eeek. Next some sparkle nails.. then the dice themed nails which are probably the only nails i liked and didn't quite go as wrong as the other nails, The dismal Ace of Hearts nails, a christmas tree, a candy cane inspired nail and then lastly cherrys for the fruit machines.

Which design is your favourite out of my poorly designed nails?.. And are you any good at nail art?..

* Items shown in this post was sent to me for this challenge,
I have not been compensated for this post.

Sponsored Video: Christmas at Boots

For me, Christmas is all about family, treating them to presents, watching all the comedians and then of course the Christmas dinner..  It simply is the most wonderful time of the year.
Another thing that makes the festive season so perfect is giving, i've always been a giver rather than a receiver.. i love that feeling of buying someone something that i know they will love and see'ing their faces when they open it, it gives me such a heart warming feel.
Every year, like most years i've always treated my family and friends to some 'smellies' and Boot's has always been the one place i go to at Christmas time to get them,  I always take advantage of the 3 for 2 offers that they have every year as i have such a big family and with offers like that you simply cannot refuse.
Not trying to sound to over the top but i'm shopping for 16 people this year and that's all close family, i then have to buy for friends to so having 3 for 2 offers save me alot of money and i can always find a gift set suited for someone, weather that's for the kids or for the parents.
Along with the festivities i love watching the Christmas adverts, nothing makes me feel more festive than see'ing Christmas adverts on TV and one of my favourite's this year is the one from Boots.
The Boots advert features real couples and relatives giving one another Christmas gifts that will give the person a feel good moment.
The advert makes me really happy see'ing families and couples opening their presents to something more meaningful, my favourite part is the hairdryer;  watch and you'll see - my boyfriend did something simular.  In the advert it shows how carefully chosen the gifts are that can mean a lot to the person who is receiving it.

If your not a fan of all the Christmas shopping rush then why not shop online at Boots.
They are still doing the 3 for 2 mix and match offer and they even have a tab for Christmas,  making it alot easier to find the perfect gift for your loved one's.

Will you be heading for Boots this Christmas?..
* Sponsored by Boots.
All thoughts and opinions are my own,
I honestly do shop at Boots every Christmas there 3 for 2 offer is simply amazing.
