MUA The Artiste Collection Palette

I must say that this palette has been sat on my desk for the past month or so now, just waiting to be reviewed but even though my head has been elsewhere lately in all honesty i actually didn't want to ruin this palette as it's way to pretty to use.. (i'm like this when i see something pretty, i purchase it but never use it.)
Anyway i finally caved, i knew i had to do it one day and i'm sure a lot of you probably felt like this to..?.. No?.. just me then.
The newest palette to MUA comes this gorgeous gorgeous Artiste Collection Palette, the palette contains 6 marbled effect eyeshadows, 2 blushers, a bronzer and a highlighter. - Perfect for on the go people, it contains earthy neutrals for an everyday look which can be easily transformed to an evening smokey eye look.
The 2 blushes are both soft, easy and wearable shades of pink, one slightly more darker than the other and more coral toned with slight shimmer, and the other a soft matte pink.
The bronzer is a lovely tone of matte brown which is perfect for contouring and of course the highlighter at the end is great for highlighting the cheekbones for a flawless natural glow.
Overall i think this is another lovely new palette to add to my collection, as always the eyeshadows are highly pigmented and the shades of each in this palette are really unique and simply stunning and easy to wear.
Even though i don't really wear purple eyeshadow i would have to say that Grape was my favourite shade from the palette and the most pigmented also.
I cannot wait to see what MUA come up with next, i'm loving all their new releases.. Stay tuned for the MUA Nail Constellation review coming shortly..

Have you tried this palette from MUA yet?..

The MUA Artiste Collection Palette is available to purchase online on the MUA Website or in selected Superdrug stores for £6!

Weekly Summary #3

This week has been extremely relaxing for me, thank goodness. I've only worked 3days this week and had the weekend off, first weekend off I've had since April and I spent most of it, sleeping and watching movies.. Total bliss.
Last night the whole family took a trip to my home town and we watched the bonfire, I was really looking forward to the parade but it turned out to be a disappointment as it lasted for about 2minutes, it gets shorter every year.. But, we do win the best fireworks display each year.. Anyway after the parade we then waited about an hour and a half in the freezing cold for the fireworks to start.. Which were amazing if i do say so myself.. We had front row seats, I absolutely love it when the fireworks light up the whole sky and you literally don't know where to look! Awesomeness.
I'm also getting extremely excited for my birthday and Christmas coming up, I've already started my Christmas shopping, best to start early I say.. Buying for about 18 people this year though.. i'm definatly not going to have any money left by the end of it..
At the moment i'm trying to figure out what to ask for/do for my birthday.. Any ideas?..

I'm also starting my Christmas gift guide ideas soon.. So many great goodies which hopefully i might even receive myself (wink wink for those in my family that read my blog)..

5 Skin Care Secrets from Dermatologists

Women often complain about their skin and say that they don’t know the secret to keeping it soft and young looking for longer.  To this end, dermatologists will often give advice on this.  Some of the simplest methods for looking after skin can actually be found in the kitchen so it is something that can be done on a regular basis.

Tip 1
Know your skin.  Our skin changes through the ages so if there is a definitive change, for example if there are dry patches appearing, then different methods of skin care may need to be used on the same area.  As we age, skin tends to become drier and products that were great in our twenties do no good once we are in our fifties.  Dermatologists recommend we do this inspection every few years to get the best out of the products on the market today,

Tip 2
Don’t over use products as this will lead to overload on the skin.  What overload does is to cause some form of inflammation or irritation if put on in highly concentrated doses although we often think we are doing a good thing.  This is particularly relevant where retinoids are in use so just use a pea sized amount for the whole face.  After fifteen minutes wash it off and never be tempted to leave it on overnight.

Tip 3
Try to eat fruits and vegetables that are high in anti oxidants.  The water content in them will also help to keep skin hydrated which will stave off dry skin and wrinkles.  Healthy fats must also be taken daily – fish, eggs, nuts and olive oil – to keep the skin supple.  Green tea is also a great anti oxidant and will stop aging in its tracks.

Tip 4
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.  It is vital to protect the skin from UV rays from the sun and most moisturizers these days have an element of protection in them.  There are different kinds for different skin types and those with oily skins should avoid oil based moisturizers.  Get a water based one to counteract dryness.

Tip 5
Exfoliating is the key to good skin.  To encourage the skin to grow a new surface, the old skin has to be exfoliated regularly.  This can be done at home with homemade remedies including oats etc, or professional scrubs and peels can be done in skin care clinics.  Skin masks come into this category too since they allow the skin to be tightened and stops sagging.  Always treat the face gently and never drag the skin too much.

Conclusions
Those who eat properly, have a good skin care routine and regularly get their skin checked by the professionals often look much younger than their years.  This is relevant for men too as the metro sexual man is also likely to take more time with his beauty routine.  It doesn’t really matter if it is a man or a woman who is trying to look and feel younger, it is the routine that they set up that really sets them apart from everyone else.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence™ No.15

The second fragrance from Liz Earle was released the beginning of this month and because the first fragrance was such a big hit i was dying to see if the next perfume was going to come anywhere near the first one, in terms of looks i prefer the classic clear glass bottle look from the first perfume but in terms of scent i much prefer this scent over the first one.
The box is decorated with illustrations of all 15 fragrances notes used that make up this gorgeous scent.
The 15 notes used to make this scent are:  Bergamot, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Guiacwood, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Cypriol, Siam Benzoin, Damask Rose, Elemi, Cinnamon Leaf, Clove Bud, Pink Pepper, Bourbon Vanilla and Vetiver.
I simply love this perfume without a doubt one of my new favourite's, i love the spiciness of the fragrance and how once you have applied it, it settles into a nice up-lifting scent which isn't to strong but strong enough to have other's pick up the scent.
I wore this to work one day and the amount of customers who complimented the scent and asked where it was from was astonishing, some didn't even know Liz Earle had started doing fragrances so i have happily guided them.
My overall thoughts:  I really didn't think i would like this perfume if i'm going to be completely honest, i'm more of a floral scented kind of girl and when i had read about the fragrance i didn't see any floral note's listed so was a bit hesitant but in saying that i loved the scent of the first perfume so i was excited to see if the second was going to be any better, but it's safe to say i have fallen completely in love with the scent, who would have guessed it!  -  I guess it's not just floral scents i like!

The Liz Earle Botanical Essence No.15 is available to purchase online at Liz Earle - £45 for 50ml  spray bottle 'here'.

It would make a perfect Christmas present!

Sponsored Video: Rimmel Kate Moss

When i first heard Kate Moss was releasing her second line of lipsticks i literally jumped out of my seat, her first collection didn't really appeal to me in terms of shades and i'm more of a matte lipstick kind of girl, so when i first court news of the new Kate Moss lipsticks being matte i needed/wanted to get my hands on them!  Unfortunately for me, when i did first get glimpse of the lipsticks the one's they had in stock of the one's i wanted were the tester lipsticks. - This is something that always happens to me, obviously them being as popular as they are would obviously sell out in no time. - Story of my life.
According to Kate the first ever lipstick she wore was from Rimmel, 'Heather Shimmer' an iridescent lilac.
107 - Wine
110 - Vibrant Coral
111-  Kiss of Life
113 - Beige
101 - Soft Pink

Released on the 3rd October as part of the new winter collection,  i was rumoured that shade 107 and 110 were sold out almost instantly, doesn't surprise me if i'm honest as they were the shades i had wanted.
The packaging this time, instead of the lovely sleek black packaging on her last collection, Kate Moss designed a whole new look to the matte lipsticks with a matte red finish and of course her signature in black.
The lipsticks retail for £5.49 each and can be purchased in-store or online.

Rimmel are also hosting a competition with GlamourMagazine on 19th October where the winner could see themselves winning a £150 Rimmel hamper, and 100 runners up will each receive a Kate Moss Matte Lipstick.

ELF Dessert Haze

A little while back, i posted an offer from ELF where you could get 50% off all nail polishes, with a minimum spend of £15 so for £7.50 i got 6 nail polishes priced at £1.25 each, obviously i thought this was a fantastic offer and i couldn't pass it up.
I don't own many nude shades in my nail polish collection the only shade i do have is Nude from Barry M and it's really quite sheer so i use it more for if i fancy a manicure, beside from that i don't have any other nude shades so i was desperate to get my hands on one.

This nudey/light brown shade is now one of my favourite nail polishes, there's a creamy texture to it and i found it only needed one maybe two coats of this to get the perfect shade.
I describe it as the 'perfect nude' almost like a mushroomy shade and on the nails it looks absolutely stunning, i had so many compliments at work and so many people were surprised that i only paid £1.25 for it.

Overall: a gorgeous nude, goes with any outfit and nice creamy formulation so you only really need one coat.

My Simple Day To Night Look..

On Tuesday last week i went to my sister and her boyfriends 8 year anniversary meal and i thought i would snap some pictures from my day look to my night time look.
During the day i went to do the normal stuff, went to Tesco's, Post office and then got my hair cut as i stupidly haven't had my hair cut in 2 long years.  Don't worry my hairdresser had a good telling off when i got there :/
With my day time look i normally just wear some mascara, curl my lashes add some lip balm and apply my foundation and powder.. nothing to much for the day time but i do like to dress it up for the night time and add a pop of colour to the look.
Products used:
Rimmels Wake Me Up Foundation
Oriflame Wonder Mascara
Cosmopolitan Eyelash Curler
Revlon Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie
Sleek Contour Kit
Benefit Brow Zings Kit
Collection 2000 Concealer
MUA 3 in 1 Eyeliner

ELF Smokin Hot

A little while back, i posted an offer from ELF where you could get 50% off all nail polishes, with a minimum spend of £15 so for £7.50 i got 6 nail polishes priced at £1.25 each, obviously i thought this was a fantastic offer and i couldn't pass it up.
I already have a few shades from ELF but i wanted more shades that would suit this season, looking through my nail polish collection all my polishes are bright, sparkly and well.. mainly pink! I had no red's in my collection whatsoever and the one i did have i had to throw out because it was getting old and the formulation wasn't great.
So this is the first nail polish from ELF which i picked, it's called Smokin Hot and it's a bright bright red shade.
I love this shade so much but the only two downfalls on this shade is that, one it stains your nails like mad and two it's hard to pair anything with this shade, i'm one of those girls who like to match their outfit with their nail polishes and this doesn't seem to go with anything.
The formulation has improved alot since my last order from ELF though and the brush seem's to be alot bigger than the old one's which make's it easier for the application.
Overall: a simply stunning shade of red, i think everyone needs to own a red shade like this in their collection!

ELF always have deals/offer's going on so be sure to follow them on facebook or twitter to hear the latest and keep up to date - www.eyeslipface.co.uk

Lady Gaga Fame

On my wishlist this year for Christmas is the new Lady Gaga perfume.   Lady Gaga has released her first perfume called Fame last month, the scent described to be like a real fruit, sometimes quite synthetic, kind of what she's like.
The elegant black bottle hold's black liquid, which when sprayed from the bottle turns into a clear liquid - which represents the battle between reality and fantasy.  Sounds bloody amazing right?
When quizzed about the fragrance's scent, she said: ''Sometimes succulent like a real fruit, sometimes quite synthetic. That's kind of what I'm like. Part of me is reality and part of me is fantasy.''
The perfume claimed to have sold 6million bottles on the week it was released, making it the second fastest selling fragrance after Coco Chanel.

It is the first black fragrance that becomes clear once it has been sprayed and contains the poisonous flower Belladonna, sweet honey drops, saffron and apricot.

Contact lenses - Green FreshLook Colorblends

Being a complete first-timer at contact lenses i was a little scared at first, the thought of actually putting something on my eye terrified me.  I've never tried contact lenses before, i've never needed to!  But see'ing other bloggers wearing contact lenses just to change the color's of their eye's for tutorial's etc really inspired me to give it a go.  When i was contacted to review contact lenses i was excited and scared. Scared as it'll go terribly wrong and i'd lose my eye or the contact's would get stuck in my eye and end up rolled to the back of my eye. eeeek!! - but i was also excited to see the result's.
I was sent green contact lenses, at first i was going to ask to change the color lenses but thinking about it, i wanted to actually see what it'll look like to have green lenses on my eye's.
I did what any other blogger would do when they didn't know how to do something and took to Youtube where i had watched a few video's on how to apply them and remove them before i started the whole process.
Being a complete newbie i was terrified, i'm not going to lie and yes i have no idea on how to apply contact lenses or remove them so i had to be 100% happy before i even started.  After watching the Youtube video's i started,  i first washed my hands to ensure they were clean dried them off , i then gently took them out of the packaging and placed the lens on the tip of my finger so that i could easily place the lens on my eye.
It took me a fair few tries to get the lens on my eye as it felt as though my eye was literally refusing the lense and my eye wasn't having any of it.  Once i had the lens on, my eye's were watering and it felt a little uncomfortable to begin with, which is normal but once i started to move my eye around abit it wasn't uncomfortable for long.  The whole first time process took me around 10minutes maybe less and to begin with i did find it a little difficult to apply the lens but once i had one on the other seemed effortless.
I love how it looked on my eye, the above image is my eye with the green contact lens in and the other eye without. It looks so crazy to me and it's completely changed my view of contact lenses altogether and i think now i may actually start wearing contact lenses, i doubt on a daily basis but i'll definitely start wearing them on special occasions or when i'm doing tutorial's.

These contact lenses are from FreshLook Colorblends* and are available from £9.99 at GetLenses.co.uk

Do you wear contact lenses?... If so, how was your first experience with them?

TIGI Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Curl Amplifier

Hairtrade.com is one of the UK's leading online retailers of hair extensions, hair care and beauty products.  They provide a wide range of hair extentions products and over 40 beauty, hair care and hair electrical brands.

I'm a little late on this review but it's also given me plenty more time to properly review this product and i can first say that i'm already a massive fan of TIGI products and use them on a daily basis so when i was sent this product to review i almost knew straight away that i would love it.
My hair is particularly curly but i do like to curl it alot and nothing annoys me more than curling your hair then for it to be frizzy so this product really does help in that department and get's away any fly-aways.
This product feel's so lightweight and another bonus is it doesn't make your hair greasy either!  I have big issue's with products that make my hair greasy to quickly as my hair is naturally really long so i find myself having to brush my hair quite often which makes my hair greasy alot quicker anyway.
I love using this product at the ends of my hair and running this product through my hair really helps with the frizz and it also make's my hair feel so soft and smelling fresh to!  Another way i like using this product is when i just come out of the shower, i like to run this product through my hair and let it air dry,  it makes a good de-tangler to.
The scent reminds me of the Tresemme shampoo and conditioners and it makes you feel as though you've just come straight out of a hair salon.
Overall, another fantastic TIGI product i now happily use on a daily basis, i have nothing bad to say at all about this product and i can defiantly see myself repurchasing once i run out.

The TIGI Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Curl Amplifier* is available to purchase at Hairtrade.com and retails for £9.89 for a 150ml can. {link}

September Favorites | 2012

September for me, was a very boring month.  I spend most of my time working, and not enough time trying new beauty products. I did however manage to grab the odd bits and bobs to try out over the month which i shall be reviewing very soon but in September i didn't really switch up any products from my last favourite's.
So let's start with make-up and nail polishes.  For my nails i've been loving this ELF nail polish in the shade Rosy Raisin, it's the shade is absolutely stunning and i've had so many compliments when wearing this polish, it's the ultimate perfect red.
For my other favourite nail polish, i've picked this one from Nails Inc.  It's called the Nail's Inc Sweet Way Sprinkles and it's a gorgeous baby blue polish infused with matte blue, pink and white sparkles.  On it's own or paired with another polish it's gorgeous either way.
For lip products i've only been using one thing for my lips and that's this lip gloss from Liz Earle in Apricot*.  It's my favourite lipgloss of all time and i love the shade it's my go-to lip product this month.
Lastly for make up product's is this new eyeshadow trio from Miners Cosmetic's in the shade Goddess *- it's not the most pigmented eyeshadow trio but i love the shade's and they blend really well, perfect for a smokey eye.
Of course my Organic Surge hand & nail cream* has to be in this, my hands have been ridiculously dry and sore lately and this hand cream has been a total saviour.  I'm not one to pay much attention to hand cream's but this one work's so so well and i can defiantly see myself repurchasing this hand cream over and over again.
Next are two products from Crabtree & Evelyn In,  i purchased some of their products from Achica a short while back and have been loving using the shower gel and perfume which is from the India Hicks Island Living Spider Lily collection.  The scent's aren't to everyone's taste and it does come off quite strong but once the scent has sunk in abit it smell's so nice.  I always feel abit more grown up when wearing this perfume.
And lastly just a random shower gel i picked up in Tesco's i picked up this scent and another one which i cannot remember for the life of me but this one really stuck out for me, i love the sunny melon scent and the oil's really help with my super dry skin - huge thumbs up from me and this is my third bottle of this!

What's your favourite's from the month of September?
