Guest Post: Natural Beauty Tips Of The Stars

The number of celebrity women known for looking fresh-faced and naturally beautiful seems to be dwindling these days. This is because many of the women we see on TV have had nose jobs, breasts reduction or other kinds of cosmetic surgery, as well as regularly wearing hair extensions, false nails and eyelashes and lashings of make-up.

This is fine for some people, but many of us want more of a low-key look. To show us how to look beautiful without all the cosmetics, preening and primping, let’s take our inspiration from stars such as Leighton Meester, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz, all of whom are known for their stunning natural beauty.
Leighton Meester
The Gossip Girl star has this to say about beauty, speaking to Harper’s Bazaar recently:
"Beauty in itself is obviously completely subjective, but I think [it's] a lot from the inside out,"
The actress’ approach to looking good involves taking exceptional care of her skin. She says that she used to wear a lot of make-up everyday but now tries to avoid it on her days off. Leighton also says that she takes all cosmetics off when she’s at home and outdoors, she wears a strong sunscreen. She says:

"When I eat well and protect my skin from the sun, I always look a lot better."
Kate Winslet
Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has a less is more approach to beauty, especially when it comes to the cosmetics she uses. She told the Daily Mail:

“Glamour to me is about remaining graceful and understated.
“For example, with very bold lip colours, you can’t overdo the rest of your face.
“With a bright-red party lipstick, just go with lots of mascara and keep everything else clean.”
Natalie Portman
Famed natural beauty Natalie Portman has many top beauty tips, including using organic skincare products and keeping up her energy levels with vitamin injections. She also loves a slick of red lipstick and always sticks to the same jasmine-scented perfume. However, the best tip the actress has to offer natural beauty fans is:

“Don’t overdo the brows — stop plucking now or you’ll regret it.”
Rachel Weisz
Rachel Weisz, who despite being over 40 has the skin of a woman in her twenties, has revealed her three steps to keeping your skin looking youthful and radiant. These include applying a SPF moisturiser to stave off lines and wrinkles, getting as much sleep as possible and only using simple, pure skin care products. In relation to her last tip, Rachel recently told Now Daily:

“In general I like to use really simple, pure products on my face though - you never know what hidden ingredients might end up doing to your skin in the future.”

Box Clothing - Day to Night Outfit's

Today i wanted to show you 2 easy look's, one for the day time and a simple and easy look for the night time from a new online store which i have only just discovered.
I've picked out timeless piece's from Box Clothing, aiming to be the UK's foremost online fashion retailer, launched in the early 90's offering some of the top brands such as French Connection, Guess, Lacoste and so on, their range is ever expanding.. Box Clothing now have 5 store's across the North East in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Redcar, Darlington and Durham.
So let's start with my day time look, I choose to go for red's and black's as my daytime look, i've been really into red's lately and i just love pairing anything outfit with something red to give it that extra boost,  I fell in love with this Rich Red and White Stripe Top from French Connection as soon as i clapped eye's on it, i love the sleeves and how it's striped one way then the sleeves are striped the opposite way! I then paired the top with these Red Canvas Plimsolls from Flossy i love how rich the colour of these plimsoll's are!
I'm obsessed with black jegging's so when i saw these Black Jegging's from Firetrap i knew i had to co-operate them in my outfit somehow, and they go perfectly with the rich red top and plimsoll's too!  With bags's and accessorie's i've gone for this Quilted Black Cross Body Bag from Ted Baker it's a plain quilted design but i love it!  And lastly, i would of much preferred this Bibi Bijoux Leather Cuff Skull Bracelet in Red but Orange is just as good, we can just pretend that this bracelet is in red, it has cute skulls on it to give the whole outfit that edgy vibe.
Moving onto my night time look, i've picked out this simple Black Dress from French Connection, and paired it with these gorgeous Black Rubber Heels From Melissa, These two pieces are simple yet stunning put together but also abit to plain, so i've added in some colour, the Ruby Red Slim Wallet and the Ruby Red Satchel Bag give's the whole outfit a gorgeous pop of Red to jazz up the outfit and make the outfit stand out a little..  Lastly to finish the outfit, i've added this Wing and Heart Bracelet from Bibi Bijoux, i didn't want to go to over board with the accessories as the pop of Red was just all this outfit needed to make it complete but i just couldn't resist with this bracelet the little wing and heart detailing is simply stunning!

What's your favourite piece from Box Clothing?

Pandora Collection Wishlist

For the longest time now, i've always dreamed of having a Pandora bracelet.  I remember when my sister first bought her Sterling Silver Threaded Bracelet, i was so jealous. That was the start to her new and ongoing collection of Pandora charm's.
Then as each event fell, etc her birthday, christmas, anniversary's another charm was added on her gorgeous bracelet.  As if that wasn't bad enough my friends all started getting one to!
Pandora jewellery is sold in more than 65 countries on six continents through over 100,000 points of sale, including more than 750 concept store's.
Today i've decided to put together my dream Pandora bracelet and the combination i would wear them at on my wrist.
So first, i'm a big fan of pink's and purples so i would definitely have to have them colour's in the bracelet. I've picked a selection of pink's including this gorgeous Breast Cancer Awareness Charm, i absolutely love this charm i think anything that support's Breast Cancer is fantastic and i would definitely have this on my charm bracelet to show my support and love to those who have been through/going through breast cancer.
I've also picked out another pink Murano Glass charm, The Pink Triangle Murano Charm this charm has a kinda Aztec feel about it and i just love it.
For my last pink charm i've gone with this Sterling Silver Heart Pendant Charm i think this charm is so so cute, the detailing is stunning and i would wear this charm right in the centre of the bracelet so it hangs down and is the charm that catches the eye.
For my last two charm's i would pick this Lilac Murano Glass Charm paired with the Purple Flower Murano Glass Charm i simply love the colour's of these charm's against the pink charms.  My favourite charm from the bunch i've chosen is the the Silver Heart Pendant Charm it is absolutely gorgeous and i could see myself wearing this charm from a day to day basis.

What's your favourite charm from Pandora?

Weekly Summary #2

First of all i'm starting my Halloween inspired looks again, so please please please vote for the look you would like to see on your right - i've added a poll, if there is something you would like to see but it's not listed then please leave me a comment on this post :)

♥  My floral nails i've literally only just done..  it was my first ever attempt and it's abit messy but i kinda like it.
♥  I have a day off work! Wahoooo! i feel like when i have a day off i really appreciate it so much, unlike before when i didn't have a job or when i worked only a few days a week but now as i'm basically working 6-7day shifts a week i feel like when i get a day off i appreciate it so much more.
♥  I finally watched The Hunger Games, i know you've all probably seen it already but i'm one of those people who don't really read books so i wasn't really into The Hunger Games bookwise but the film is soo soo good!  Have you seen it yet?
♥  I've been loving H&M lately, i've placed about 3 orders already in the past 2 weeks and although the delivery kinda sucks and most times when i order an item it's not in stock so i have to wait about a month to receive the item but it's all worth it in the end.
♥  I've ditched the winged eyeliner this week and gone with a smokey eye, i love it! - most days i'm a little lazy and smokey eyes can take a little while to do but i've been loving this look.
♥  I'm looking forward to Taken 2 coming out!! Who else is excited for this?

Guest Post: There could be an Indian summer yet!

There could be an Indian summer yet!
The UK may not have experienced quite the barbeque summer hoped for, and instead we have faced persistent rain and chilly temperatures. This has meant that many have held off making additions to their summer wardrobes. However, with a forecast indicating a sunny outlook for September, there could be an Indian summer yet!
If you are considering a holiday to catch the some rays before autumn, or thinking of preparing for the warmer weather heading our way, now is the perfect time to shop. Many high street retailers still have extensive summer stock and online stores are worth a look too. The thick jumpers and coats needn’t be brought out quite yet, so instead check out these great summer buys, to continue the season in style.
A new bikini or swimsuit is must-buy for any getaway, and Avenue 32 features a huge range from a number of designers, such as this eye-catching kaleidoscope bikini from Pistol panties. Check out the full range of Pistol Panties beachwear at Avenue 32.
Every girl’s go-to favourite, what better place than Topshop in which to find that other style staple, the maxi dress. This floral print sleeveless maxi features an open mesh back, perfect for showing off a tan after a hard day at the beach! The high neckline and full length also means this dress is great for the chillier September evenings in the UK.
Mint green was a key trend for spring/summer 2012, and an ideal way to add edginess to a soft, pastel tone is with these hot hot pants from Asos. The rough, frayed hem of these reclaimed vintage Levi’s is a great way to work a retro colour for 2012. As the sun goes down, add a thin knit and chunky necklace in matching mint, such as this piece by Angela Figus, from yoox.com.
For those holidaying in the UK, even the late summer sun will not be enough to flaunt too much flesh. Yet covering up in a jacket does not have to signal the start of Autumn, as this cute bird print jacket from Warehouse demonstrates. The sleeves can be rolled up and worn casually with a summer dress or jeans, and the tailored blazer style of this piece means it is also a great addition to your work wardrobe.
With high hopes for the coming month, there is still time to showcase some stunning summer looks!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream Review

After reading a ton of reviews on this product back when it was first released i finally went out and bought the product a couple of months back now.  I'm always on a look out for BB creams so when a new BB cream is released i normally don't go rushing out to purchase it straight away instead i like to wait and see what other's think first before i do.
So after reading some fantastic reviews i did decide i wanted to give this BB cream a try, hoping it would live up to it's expectations.
My first thoughts on this product seemed great, as i swatched it in-store it seemed like a good coverage BB cream, it has SPF 30 in it which is great, the smell of the product wasn't over-powering and i liked that it gave my hand a nice glow.
Unlike other BB creams i've tried Maybelline's BB cream has more of a matte finish which i kinda like, and the consistency is more watery and is very sheer, i apply this product using my fingers and it blends really well.  Onto the coverage, which i'm not going to lie it's not the best coverage BB cream out there.. i mean it's okay but i do prefer heavier coverage foundations and this looks nothing like what it did on my hand when i swatched it. When i do use this product i find myself reaching for more my powder and concealer alot more to cover any of my imperfections, it does do some things that it claims to do on the tube, such as 'Blur Imperfections' it certainly doesn't blur them out completely, it is hydrating and it makes my skin feel fresh.
Overall i don't think i'll be repurchasing this BB cream again, it's a nice BB cream for those who don't really have imperfections but for me it lacks in coverage and i do like abit of coverage.
It's priced at £7.99 for a 30ml tube and comes in four shades, a Light, Medium and a Dark and also a Universal Glow, mine's in the shade Medium which i thought suited my skin tone best but even that was slightly to dark and the Light shade was too light.

Have you tried the new Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream?.. If so, what were your thought's?

HELP! i seriously need a haircut...

I've been trying to decide what to do with my hair for a while now. I haven't had my hair cut properly since December 2010! That's nearly 2 years without a haircut, i've snipped bits of my hair off here and there whenever i felt the split ends were getting to bad and also got my hair trimmed by my boyfriends sister last August in 'this post'.  But i'm booking an appointment with the hairdressers over the next week to finally get a full haircut but i'm still trying to decide on what i want to do with my hair.
Above is a few snaps i've taken over the years to show my hair from when it was last cut.  In 2010 i had my hair cut to my shoulder length, at first i loved it and i was trying to go for a Lauren Conrad style haircut shown 'here'.  My hair's grown quite abit since then and it's now just past my boobies, as much as i love the length my hair is lacking in volume and my hair just looks so flat all the time.
Currently, my hair is dyed red but i'm starting to get bored of that already and wanting abit of a change, thinking of getting my blonde back in my hair again?

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated..

How much is my face worth?

I've seen this tag everywhere lately and have loved reading everyone's post on how much their face is worth, it's amazing how much we spend on products to make ourselves pretty isn't it?
Anyway i thought i would give this little tag a go and also i'm intrigued to see how much my face is really worth.
So to make this easier on me, and for anyone who reads this post i've sectioned it off from eye's, face and then lip's, as i switch up my make up quite alot i've listed my most-used make up products and also i've not included any make up brushes or skincare products..
I've also listed them at the full RRP as some products shown are currently on offer.
Rimmel Scandal Eye's Show Off Mascara - £6.99 - link
ELF Eyelid Primer - £1.50 - link

I'm pretty impressed, i thought it was going to cost way more than that so i am pretty happy with the total. Thinking about it, all these products have/will last me way more than a month so £5 a day is worth it to make yourself look good.

Have you done this tag yet? If so... how much is your face worth?

August Favorites | 2012

I know everyone's said this already but seriously where has this year gone?.. This year has just flown by in lightning speed and it's almost Christmas already!- how crazy is that?
So as always, as a month passes another monthly favourites is needed and from the month of August i focused more on my skin and hair rather than purchasing more and more make up.
I've recently gone back to being a red head so i purchased these shampoo and conditioner from Tesco's to help keep the colour going strong and to make the colour more vivid 'as it says on the bottle'.  The pair cost me £3.29each which isn't too bad and it does work really well with my hair and the colours it also smells divine!
If you read my Liz Earle Loose Finish Powder a few post's back i said i didn't really get along with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (*), well... i've completely changed my tune and i am now in love with it.  I've purchased a few back-ups already and i've only been using the product for about 2weeks!
Another Liz Earle product i am currently loving is the Liz Earle Lipgloss (*) from their new make up range, it's in the shade Apricot and it's such a nice shade to wear everyday.. more on this lipgloss in a review coming up.
Another product i've been loving for my skin lately is the St Ives Gentle Scrub, i don't normally purchase St Ive's i remember having a slight problem with one product a few years back and never bought anything since but see'ing as though Superdrugs had/have them currently for £2.49 instead of £4.99 i thought i'd snap one up and give the product another go, and i love it! it works really well, smells amazing and it's cleared my skin up a lot.
For nails i've been loving the Barry M nail polish in the shade Nude, with the Rimmel Clear Top Coat, i'm trying to keep my nails at work a more neutral colour rather than go for bright so i've been going for the plain and simple look. - don't worry i'm already back to my bright and sparkly colours now.
And lastly for beauty products it's the Bourjois 1second nail polish remover! - I am so so lazy when it comes to removing my nail polish that most of the time i just let the nail polish chip off to it's nearly gone and then pick the rest of it off! How bad is that?! - But ever since i've owned this little pot of magic i've wanted to paint my nails more and it's made removing nail polish a whole lot easier, plus it smells great!
And for fashion favourite's, i've been loving my recently purchases from Primark so much i've had to include them in this post.
Firstly, the Metal Bow Body Bag i fell in love with as soon as i clapped my eyes on them, i love the colour so much, the little bow at the front is so cute and it was only £8!! I threw it straight in my basket without any hesitation and never looked back. Best purchase i've made in a while.
The last two items i wanted to mention in this post were my 2 new favourite pairs of flats, i couldn't decide on which one to get so i ended up getting both. They were £12 and £10, can't remember which way round but i've been wearing them non-stop since i bought them i love them so so much!

So that's it for my monthly favourites for August,
Did you have any favourite's last month?..
