March + April Favorites | 2012

I cannot believe i missed my monthly favourites last month, god knows where my head was back then but i thought i'd make up for it with a March and April favourites post for you all today.
Like i said in my previous post, i haven't been wearing as much make-up lately than i normally do due to work.. so i've kept my make up very minimal through-out the past 2 months.  Before i start i just want to say that my camera ran out of battery just after i took the picture above so i didn't manage to snap any of the products in action.. but i will instead link you to post's where i have either swatched the products or reviewed them... Okay so let's finally start..

o  Bourjois Heathly Mix Foundation -  I am still to this day in love with my Bourjois foundation, i am in the shade 53 Light Beige - I've been using this throughout March and from the beginning of April and I just cannot describe my love for this foundation - it's cheap (£9.99), gives me amazing coverage, lasts pretty much all day without having to touch up, smells great and gives me a flawless finish everytime!.. need i say more? - link

o  ELF Blushing Rose Blush + Sleek Blush 921 Suede -  Again i've been using both of these blushes throughout March and April, depending on how i want my blush to look.. if i want it slightly darker i go for the ELF blush and if i want it to look pretty natural then i go for Sleek, both blushes i absolutely love and both were really cheap to (Sleek @ £4.99 + ELF @ £3.50)..  link

o  Rimmel Airy Fairy Lipstick + MAC Angel -  Both of these lipsticks are almost exactly the same as each other, if your looking for a good dupe of MAC's Angel then look no further as Airy Fairy from Rimmel is an almost exact match..  the only difference in my opinion is Angel has more moisture and Airy Fairy is more of a matte lipstick.. (Rimmel £4.99 + MAC £13.50)  link

o  Born Pretty Store Liquid Eyeliners (*) - I'm currently on my second one of these liquid eyeliners and i love them! I get alot of compliments about my liquid eyeliner and what i used.. well this is exactly what i use, with these liquid eyeliners it makes it soo easy to apply and gives you a precise line which i then use to help me wing my eyeliner - if you would like to see a post on how i apply my liquid eyeliner then please do let me know and i'll be more than happy to make a post on it. (Pack of 6 for $8.42)  link

o  LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub - I completely forgot i had this, it's been at the bottom of my handbag for months and months.  The weather here in the UK has been up and down lately so this lip scrub has been a total savior and helped get rid of the flakeyness on my lips so i can wear my lipsticks with confidence. (£4.95)  link

o  MUA Eyeshadow Shade 1 -  I've been using this eyeshadow non-stop for the past 2 months for a base and a highlight.  I don't wear much make up at work but i do like to put a tiny amount of eyeshadow on that isn't noticeable.  This eyeshadow lasts all day, is really pigmented and cheap! (£1) link

o  New CID Cosmetics Foundation (*) - And lastly, I won't say to much on this foundation as i have a review of this coming up shortly..  I will say one thing though.. It's amazing! (£28.50)

So that's it on my monthly favourites for March and April.. What's been your favourites this month?

The Sunday Edit #3

Nothing much to really report on this week of i'm honest, and i'm currently blogging from my phone so i'm sorry if this post looks a mess once i've published it, I've never used blogger for my iPhone before!
o Anyway this week has been so stressful at work, having to work
5days straight and long hours too!
o Today I was up at 5am again and i'm extremely tired once again but i now have 2 days off so i shall be catching up on my favourite blogs and doing abit of blogging myself :)
o I've been drawing out a list to get with my first pay cheque from work, sad I know but when you have to wait almost 2months for your first pay cheque then you start to go a little crazy..
o And lastly my look of the day, and my make up look of the week.. I don't really change my make up during the week I keep it quite minimal as i don't want to go to over the top for work.. I'm starting to miss wearing eyeshadows though..

I hope you've all had a lovely week/weekend!

APRIL Fashion Wishlist

I've been loving handbags and purses lately, as you may be able to tell.  I've always had an obsession with them..  I've been loving corals again aswell, so i've been searching for a coral stud purse/card wallet so i don't have to keep going through my pile of cards to find my credit or debit cards..
A pink clutch bag, just because i love the colour of it and because i'm in need of a new clutch bag, the neon clutch bag i spotted on DizzyBrunette3's blog absolutely ages ago now and it's been on my wishlist for months!   2 dresses in mint green and orange which i spotted a week ago or so and absolutely love and the floral stiletto pumps i think would look perfect for the summer!  A new phone case just because i'm bored with my glitter one now and this one looks gorgeous!
And lastly some bits of jewellery, i've been searching for a bracelet like the ekiLove bracelet shown for months now and by off chance spotted this one i think it's stunning and i'm dying to get my hands on it, the necklace was something i spotted whilst browsing forever21 and i love it!

Whats on your fashion wishlist this month?

APRIL Beauty Wishlist

Just a few bits and bob's i've been eying up lately.  Most of which i'll most likely get once payday arrives..  I'm not much of a perfume person and i weren't really interested in the Vera Wang perfume when it was first released but having recently smelt this i couldn't stop sniffing my wrists.. Such an amazing scent which i must have!
A few new releases have also caught my eye these past few weeks, the Models Own Ibiza Mix i keep see'ing on other beauty blogs and it just looks gorgeous paired with any nail polish!  The Barry M Magnetic nail polishes again same thing has been done but i'm still yet to try these ever-so famous magnetic polishes.. not really something i would normally go for but they do look quite fun!  And lately i've seen a ton of great reviews on the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover something that i would instantly go for without having to even think about it, i'm so lazy when it comes to taking off my nail polish that these just seem perfect for me!
The NARS Blush Bronzer Trio has been on my wishlist for absolutely ages now, the price completely puts me off it though, priced at £39.. I'm sure i'll be able to find a good dupe of this though.
And lastly the Topshop Nail Polish in Adrenalin i only recently spotted whilst browsing the Topshop website, i love the shade of this nail polish and i've been on a hunt for a pink glitter nail polish for a while now! - this is next on my wishlist!

What's on your wishlist this month?

Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream

I don't have particularly curly hair, more on the wavy/straight side..  but i am forever searching for products to make my hair more curly.  I've never tried any products from Moroccanoil but have heard and seen a ton of fantastic reviews on them, mainly on the Moroccanoil Treatment which alot of beauty bloggers have raved about and i've been meaning to try it out but just can't bring myself to spend all that money on some hair oil especially as i'm one of those people who like to 'try before they buy'.
Natural curls and waves need to be smooth and defined to look their best. Intense Curl Cream is an ideal leave-in conditioner rich in argan oil and vitamins. It defines, moisturizes, nourishes and fights frizz without leaving a sticky residue. Curls look shiny, shapely, beautifully refreshed and touchably soft.
Directions:  Rub a small amount between palms, run through hair and style as usual.

After getting out the shower and towel drying my hair,  i applied a small amount(a little goes a very long way) of this to my hair and rubbed it in, brushed through my hair, briefly scrunched it and left my hair to dry.  Once my hair was fully dried i noticed my hair to be alot more smoother, soft, shiny and my hair was left wavy.  Without the product my hair usually dries straight with a few kinks here and there,  but with this product it managed to hold the curls in from when my hair was wet until when it dried.
The consistency is thick and very creamy but don't let the thick consistency fool you as soon as i applied this product through my hair the cream simply disappeared. There was no greasiness or stickiness.. one thing i try to avoid when purchasing hair products as my hair can get very greasy easily.  This product instead made my hair extremely soft, non-greasy and also frizz free!
The scent i would describe smelt abit like Johnson baby products, only slightly more perfumey..
I'd say the only downside to this product is the price - priced at £22.85 for a 300ml bottle is abit extreme but it is an amazing product and if your searching for a product that will hold your curls, leave your hair feeling soft and smooth with zero frizz then look no further.
The Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream is available from www.HairTrade.com for £22.85 for 300ml.

Have your tried this product before?  What were your thoughts?

The Sunday Edit #1

image: weheartit
I've decided to start doing weekly blogpost update's on what i've been up to during this week and coming weeks, as you may know i've just started a new job so sometimes it's harder for me to do proper blog post's, so i've decided to do 'The Sunday Edit' to let you all in on what i do over the week/s.
  • On Tuesday i started training at my new job, which meant lots and lots of paper work and lots of tests (6 in total).. which you had to get 100% on.  You get three tries and if you fail you don't get the job.  Luckily for me, i passed all 6 tests.. 3 in the first go and the other 3 on the second try! It was like being back in school again!
  • I officially started my new job on Wednesday - which was crazy scary and i was super nervous but as soon as i got to work i was fine and i'm really enjoying it so far!
  • 6am start!  I've been working non-stop for the past few days.  Today i had to be up at half 4 to get ready for work and be at work for 6am!  Honestly, that's the worst thing about this job!
  • Yesterday was my blog's (Miss Holly) first birthday!  Seems absolutely crazy that i've had my blog for a whole year! And i'm so thankful for all the amazing opportunities my blog has had, and for all the amazing followers i have!
  • AND finally i have a few days off work now,  so i shall be catching up on some blogs and scheduling a ton of blog post's for the week to come, sleeping, doing a spot of shopping and replying back to all my emails and comments!
I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying the weekend!

Update & NOTW - Turquoise + Grey

Firstly, i just want to say that i may not be able to blog as much over the next few weeks as i have just started my new job and although i will try and schedule some blog post's throughout the week i may not get time some days to do so, so i apologise if i'm missing for a few weeks!  Another little update is that i am currently waiting for my tripod to get delivered so that i can start filming youtube videos again, also i haven't annouced the winner of my MAC giveaway yet as i am waiting for my tripod to arrive to do so and to also film a giveaway for my blog anniversary (which is in 2 days!) and 2000 follower giveaway - so stay tuned for that!.. I'm hoping to get this all done within the next week but depending on work etc, it may be up a little late!

Okay so onto my nails of the week post - I got this idea after a reader of mine (Simderella) commented on one of my other nail post's and gave me a brilliant idea to do this look..
I used Barry M Turquoise on the ring finger and Barry M Grey on the other fingers, I then added some glitter nail polish on top (which isn't shown) to give the overall look some sparkle..

What do you think of this look?
Like it or hate it?

NOTW Gold Shimmer Nail Polish

Gold Shimmer Nail Polish (*)
I bet your all thinking 'not another shimmer nail polish' - Yes another one!  Okay so i've developed a huge love for these and i admit i am obsessed!
- Like the other shimmering nail polishes i've shown, you only really need one coat of this nail polish and your all set to go, usually i like to apply 2 coats just to even out the shade and go over any bits i may have missed.  These nail polishes normally last for around 3-5days before it starts chipping. The texture of this nail polish dries abit bumpy but like i've said in the other reviews on this nail polish .. it's nothing a top coat can't fix.
I abolutely love the shade of this nail polish which is a perfect gold, the shimmer in these nail polishes are absolutely stunning and really catches your eye perfect for Spring/Summer - I've currently paired this with OPI's Servin' Up Sparkle and it looks absolutely gorgeous! (Not shown in picture)
Again i have nothing bad to say about this nail polish i absolutely love the shade, the shimmer and the texture!
This nail polish retails for $4.22 which is approximately £2.70.. that's pretty darn cheap if you ask me.. You can purchase this nail polish online at the Born Pretty Store website by clicking here they also do lots of fantastic nail art tools to and for a further 10% off you can use my coupon code:
(Please note: the shades on the Born Pretty Store website may differ to what it looks like in person)
They also offer free worldwide shipping which saves you alot of money so you'd literally only be paying for the product..

L'Oreal's Rouge Caresse Lipstick

I hardly heard anything about these new lipsticks from L'Oreal only up until the launch date in the UK which was when i first heard about them from Fleur or FleurDeForce which is wierd see'ing as though now they seem to be extremly popular in the beauty world.
Everyone's saying it and i'm going to say it aswell.. this is basically L'Oreal's answer to the Revlon Lip Butters in my opinion..
This lipstick is in shade Dating Coral, a gorgeous coral with a beautiful shimmer.  The texture is very sheer but is still quite pigmented and just glides onto your lips perfectly leaving it with a lovely shine.
I'm abit torn between the two on which i like the most out of these lipsticks and the Revlon Lip Butters as i find both of them are just as good as each other!  Both are very simular but have different formulas - L'Oreal's Rouge Caresse Lipstick is much lighter than the Revlon Lip Butters where as the Revlon Lip Butters are more creamy and slightly more pigmented - both priced at £7.99!

The L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks are available to purchase from Superdrug and Boots for £7.99 each and with 10 different shades to choose from!

Have you tried L'Oreal's Rouge Caresse Lipstick?  What were your thoughts?

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

I'm sure you've all heard about these lip butters by now,  if you haven't then now is the time to!  These lip butters from Revlon have been hitting up a storm since it was released in the US making everyone in the UK green with envy.. me especially..  Unfortunately the UK didn't recieve the full color range of lip butters but if your that desperate then check on ebay(that's what i did!)  There were a few shades which were out of stock which i wanted and still haven't managed to get but i'm hoping that when the hype dies down abit i'll be able to track them down easier..
They are described as a cross between a lipstick and lip balm and come in a fair few shades..  They are currently 3 for the price of 2 at Boots online and in store and i managed to finally get my hands on them!
I won't ramble on about how much i love these, as i'm sure you've all seen plenty of reviews on these by now but let's just say that i would highly recommend them!
Unlike the other Revlon lip products these come beautifully packaged in a quilted design and each shade matches the shade inside.  Each of these shade's are highly pigmented and super moisturising and are very easy to wear.
Macaroon /  Strawberry Shortcake  / Tutti Fruiti  /  Sweet Tart

New Look Haul

As you can see from the picture above that i did some online shopping for some much needed pastel clothing,  after my boyfriend and i had a huge clear out of our clothes which will be sent to charity, i felt like i needed some brighter clothes in my closet for Spring/Summer and my first stop was New Look, I stuck with basic colours with no prints as i also needed new clothes to wear to work to.  I've been absolutely loving New Look lately, i'm a little on-off with New Look as i am with Topshop, i feel as though one month i could buy out their entire shop then the next not really liking what they have in store and walking away with nothing..
Anyway enough with the rambles and on with what i've actually bought..  I couldn't find a better way to show you them - so i tried each one on so you can see for yourselves.. (Please excuse the dirty mirror, i know i need to clean it)
o  Green oversized armhole racer back vest - £4.99
o  Basic lilac boxy t-shirt - £3.00 on sale
o  Coral fluted sleeve t-shirt - £6.99
o  Bright orange neon skinny jeans - £22.99

Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo and Moisturizing Rinse

Ever since my hair dilemma a few weeks ago i've been trying really hard to look after my hair, i've always been the one to look after my hair in the first place but i've really needed a pick-me-up ever since my freak accident with some hairdyes left my hair abit dry and slightly damaged..
Macadamia Natural Oil haircare products claim to combine two of the world's rarest, most valuable oils to provide the ultimate in hair rejuvenation and maintenance.
Macadamia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo is a moisturizing shampoo for all hair types and is excellent for dry, damaged hair. The Rejuvenating Shampoo gently cleanses the hair while weightlessly replenishing moisture and protecting the hair from environmental elements.
After using the Rejuvenating Shampoo for a little under two weeks now i could happily say that i am extremly pleased with it and would definetly repurchase it once this bottle has finished..  I would decribe the scent to be very sweet and fresh smelling which isn't to overpowering and lasts a very long time. The texture is like any other shampoo but feels more moisturising and gives you that feeling like you've just had deep conditioning leaving your hair irresistibly smooth afterwards..  Because i had just re-coloured my hair i wanted to use a shampoo/conditioner that wouldn't wash out the colours almost straight away,  I didn't need to worry about that with this shampoo as it's Color Safe, Sulfate Free and Paraben Free.
Macadamia Natural Oil Moisturizing Rinse (*)
Macadamia Natural Oil Moisturizing Rinse is a daily conditioner designed to nourish and detangle hair, leaving it manageable and ready to style.  An excellent conditioner ideal for all hair types, Macadamia Natural Oil™ Moisturizing Rinse is an every day conditioner that gently nourishes, detangles, moisturizes and protects, leaving hair soft, manageable and ready to style.  After cleansing with Macadamia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo, work the Macadamia Natural Oil Moisturizing Rinse through your hair, from roots to end. Leave in for 30-60 seconds then rinse thoroughly.
Your probably all wondering why the Moisturizing Rinse is in a smaller bottle than the Rejuvenating Shampoo, i did wonder that at first but realised i would never use the up a full sized bottle of the Moisturizing Rinse before the Rejuvenating Shampoo anyway since you don't need as much conditioner as you do shampoo.  After using the shampoo i then applied the Moisturizing Rinse through my hair and left it for about a minute or two and washed it out..  I noticed my hair to be alot more smoother and felt and looked more healthier,  As with the shampoo it has the same scent, the texture is thick like any other conditioner and it's very moisturising to..  The Moisturizing Rinse also is Color Safe, Sulfate Free and Paraben Free.

Both products are available to purchase from www.hairtrade.com.
- Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo £12.49 for 300ml
- Macadamia Moisturizing Rinse £3.99 for 60ml

Have you tried any Macadamia products? Which ones are your favourite?

Miners Spring/Summer Nail Collection

 Miners Spring/Summer Nail Collection (*)
Newly released to Miners Cosmetics are the new Spring/Summer nail polish collection with 5 gorgeous shades,  3 brand new bright shades and 2 pastel shades..  Each shade is very unique and different to each other and all are very wearable gorgeous shades for Spring/Summer.
Keepin' it Teal / Jezebel / Sunny Side Up / Marshmallow / Mango Tango

Keepin' it Teal - Keep it real with this new wicked shade!
Jezebel - Unleash your wicked side.
Mango Tango - Compliment your summery outfit with this fun and vibrant shade.
Marshmallow - The perfect pastel pink for the Spring/Summer season.
Sunny Side Up - A must have edition to your Summer collection.

The texture of each of these nail polishes i found to be a little runny and you do need at least 2 coats to get the full colour effect as you would with any other nail polish but they did dry pretty quickly so thats a bonus in my books.  Each polish comes with a wacky name and in a slim 9ml bottle easy to just throw into your handbag or suitcase if your going on holiday this year.

These nail polishes are available to purchase online at Miners Cosmetics for £2.99.
